5 Reasons Influencers Need Long-Term Relationships

5 Reasons Influencers Need Long-Term Relationships

The Internet is a highly influential tool in the world of Integrated Marketing Communications. Influencer Marketing, too like all channels of media is transforming every moment. Influencer Marketing is a two-way street- brands want leads and conversions and influencers wish to be associated with big brands. But, long-term relationships are something influencers seek eagerly, because it sure reaps benefits for both influencers as well as brands. In this post, we try to understand the reasons behind Influencers seeking long-term relationships
Understanding
In any long-term relationship, both parties tend to understand the personality and needs of each other. Likewise, in a long-term relationship between a brand and influencer, the influencer will become well versed with the brand’s culture, ideology, the way a brand wishes to be presented and how an influencer resonates with that truth, is a process. And, processes take time. The fruit of this entire process is great content. It's as good as, when truly know a friend, you know what should be the content and caption they want to be tagged in by you.
Loyalty
Loyalty is an aspect that will be on the part of the brand, the influencer and the influenced audience. If we follow someone, it means we like them, or an aspect of their personality and would like to keep a tab on what they follow. Same being the case, with influencers, when they have good relationships with a brand, it reflects in their content, the constant recommendation posts and this catches the attention of the audience. The follower is very likely, to check out the product. Voila! The lead is created. Conversions will happen and that we believe, depends on one’s economic strength and the pricing of the product.
When an influencer is associated with a certain brand, it affects his/her own image hugely. It means, they represent the product, they resonate with the ideology of the product and being associated with big brands can help them rake in more money, or for an influencer who is into endorsing environment-friendly products and causing, he will develop an image of being conscious of environmental causes. Probably its safe to say, Your brand attracts your tribe!
Content
When there’s an outstanding relationship between the influencer and brand, the ‘set number of posts’ is surpassed, and because of a good rapport, one can see randomly put posts of the product being used by the influencer. The content is creatively shot and worded. The influencer nurtures his/her bond with the brand and the followers think that the influencer actually does use the product so we can give it a shot too. This card majorly plays in favour of the brand.
Money& Security
All businesses strive for money. Long-term means a continuous outlet for money. Moreover if a brand supports a small-time blogger who the brand believes will make it big later in the game then not only it provides funds for the influencer, but because the brand invested their money, time and patience into the influencer, the brand will be eulogised for that by the influencer and the influencer will have a soft spot for the brand in the future. Also, long-term relationships are more formal,i.e. signed contracts covering exclusivity, a tenure of engagement, use of a name, number of posts and various other conditions. The contract is beneficial in understanding the terms and conditions that come with the relationship and is in the will to protect the relationship, the collaboration.
A consumer is an ever-evolving being, a rather enigmatic one. The sole goal of any business is to generate profits, gain money and in the process develop connections. In the quest to achieve it, brands engage in various methods and strategies to reach out to their target audience. And, if an influencer can gain money out of posting content they relate to and would want to promote, its a win-win for both the company and the influencer.
